    This is Safari Camp:

At 17:00, our Safari Camp guides will meet you to form a car caravan along winding back roads up to the area – beyond Kolmården's public spaces. Then it's time to park the cars and walk with your luggage the final stretch on foot.

Once inside the area, you'll be assigned your accommodation in our cozy tent village, neighboring the savanna's wild animals. Our safari tents have room for 2-4 people and are equipped with beds, heaters, and lamps. You'll need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow in your packing. Bed linen sets are also available for rent.

We also have two glamping tents placed in prime locations next to the savanna with their own veranda – if you peek out during the night, don't be surprised if you find yourself eye to eye with one of our nocturnal hoofed animals. The glamping tents accommodate 5 people and are fully equipped with made-up beds, a reading corner, lamps, and outdoor furniture – everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Safari Camp includes an exclusive animal encounter. You'll learn more about how the animals you meet live, where they reside in the wild, and how our animal caretakers work to make each day fun and unique for them!

When darkness falls, we return to the tent village. At 19:30, it's time for dinner – a fantastic grill buffet prepared over an open fire by our guides (plenty of vegetarian options available). Food and drinks are enjoyed together in our larger basecamp tent. We also have a small bar available for those who wish to purchase wine or beer. The buffet is topped off with a delicious dessert!

After dinner, tranquility usually descends. You can enjoy the stillness, each other's company – or make new acquaintances (children usually quickly find new friends in the tent village). Before bedtime, we roast marshmallows over the evening's last embers. Afterward, you'll sleep soundly after an eventful day. Light sleepers might want to pack earplugs – lions and other animals roar and make sounds throughout the night!

In the morning, everyone is awakened by our guides who have set up a substantial breakfast buffet in the basecamp. The morning light over the savanna is something truly special; you'll often find yourself standing in silence with a cup of coffee in hand, gazing out over the area.

Around 9:00 on the day of departure, we gather for a joint departure to Vildmarkshotellet where you can shower and swim before the wildlife park opens for the day. Towels are available to borrow on site.

After your visit/swim at Vildmarkshotellet, you're welcome to enter the park via the main entrance. If you don't want to shower/swim, you can enter the wildlife park from the main entrance when the park opens at 10:00.

Note: You need to both park your car and enter through the main entrance after your visit to Vildmarkshotellet.

    Tip:

Safari Camp is not recommended for younger children. School age and upward is more appropriate.

You need to bring your own vehicle to visit Safari Camp. In the tent village there are real toilets in a separate building. There are sinks with running water here, but there are no shower facilities. You are welcome to freshen up the next day with a shower and sauna in Lagunen.

Feel free to bring your own snacks, but bringing your own alcoholic beverages is not allowed in the tent village. If desired, wine and/or beer can be purchased in our bar i the common big tent. There is of course also the possibility to buy snacks/sweets at the camp.

Dinner is served around 19:30, so it's good to have food in your stomach or some snacks in the backpack until then.

Specify dietary deviations at the time of booking (vegetarian, lacto-gluten-free diet does not need to be notified in advance). If you book online, it works good to contact our booking department on 010 708 70 00 with this info.

    Safer booking with cancellation protection

With our popular cancellation protection, you can feel completely safe. You can then, upon presentation of a medical certificate, cancel or rebook your stay until 17:00 the day before arrival if you or a close relative suffers from illness or an accident.
